Worries in the Night　　　　　

Wearing another layer, just before daybreak, I go to the convenience store.
I look up at the faintly lit sky, and whistle.

The usual clerk greets me mildly,
I answer him, “thanks”, with a little embarrassment.

Sitting down on a bench at the bus station, I sip a paper cup of coffee.
And I'm watching it, breathing deeply.

Whether or not I can live on. The thought runs through my mind.
Can I continue in my job? It makes me anxious for a moment.

After folding the empty cup, I throw it away into the garbage,
Then I walk again while looking up around the faintly lit sky.



夜の不安　　Yoru no fu'an

明け方コンビニまで
上着 羽織って行く
うすあかるい空を
見上げて口笛

いつもの店員さんが
優しく挨拶
両肩すくめて
ありがとう って言う

バス停のベンチで
100円の珈琲を
ひとくち啜って
見つめて深呼吸

暮らしていけるか
不安が横切る
仕事が出来るか
ふと不安になる

空っぽの紙コップ
たたんでゴミ箱
うすあかるい空を
見渡して歩く
